The Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council (MCCPC) was established in 1974 by four municipalities—Randolph, Dover, Denville and Roxbury. Currently managed by the Township of Randolph (referred to as the lead agency), membership has grown exponentially, from the original four towns to our current roster of over two hundred government entities.
MCCPC members include municipalities, counties, police departments, school districts, sewerage authorities, housing authorities and municipal utilities authorities. Pursuant to the enabling statute, members come from eight different New Jersey counties—Morris County plus the seven counties which are contiguous to Morris County’s borders: Essex, Hunterdon, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties. MCCPC’s growth in both size and success has been fueled by the desire of government agencies to save taxpayer dollars. Participating agencies are able to pool their purchasing power to receive discounted prices on a wide range of goods and services. Members currently have access to fifty-eight contracts established by the MCCPC covering everything from road resurfacing, rock salt and automobiles to sporting goods, uniforms and office supplies.
Since its formation in 1974, the MCCPC’s shared services effort has saved taxpayers more than $18 million.
MCCPC bid contracts are divided into four distinct categories: spring, autumn, motor vehicles and winter. The spring contracts typically go out to bid in March of each year, autumn and motor vehicle contracts in July, and winter contracts in August.
